PCBI Bioinformatics Workshops

"Introduction to R for use in bioinformatics".

R is a commonly used statistical tool for analysis of medium to large biomedical research data sets, such as:

  • High-throughput genetic screens
  • Microarray data sets
  • Time course experiments

Economics dictates that core facilities perform these bench experiments for most researchers, but often times the result is minimally processed for quality control. The onus of downstream data mining for biologically relevant information is on the researcher.

This course will introduce the use of the R statistical package for the downstream analysis of biomedical research data.

Title: Introduction to the R statistics package
Dates: May 3rd — May 5th, 2010
Time: 9:00 AM
Place: Room 253 Biological Research Building 2/3

Please email Hannah Chervitz ( chervitz@exchange.upenn.edu ) to register for the course.
